Abstract
News footage of a strike by Studebaker-Packard Corporation employees in South Bend, Indiana on November 24th 1958. The automobile plant was shut down as 7,000 members of the United Automobile Workers' Union went on strike to demanded better wages. The strike ended after four days.
Description
In this footage, workers hold picket signs reading "Local No. 5 U.A.W. On Strike For Justice." At the end of the reel, a member of management justifies linking wage increases to sales goals for the Studebaker Lark model.
