Abstract
Silent and sound newsreel of Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev and his wife visiting Des Moines, Iowa. He arrives by plane and talks to the press through an interpreter about looking forward to visiting Iowa. He says he is aware that they are number one in the country for corn and that the Soviet Union are in a healthy competition with them over corn production. He drives through crowded streets and visits different factories including a meat-packing plant where he is given a hot dog. This was the first time a Soviet premier had visited the USA.
