Foolish Pleasure
An interview with Foolish Pleasure’s assistant trainer John Nazareth on August 6, 1976, the day before the Golden Invitational Handicap was held at Arlington Park.
This film opens with several shots of groom Frank Morris posing with Foolish Pleasure in a stable as WLS-TV Channel 7 reporter Mike Nolan observes. In the following scene, Nolan strolls outside the stable with Foolish Pleasure’s assistant trainer John Nazareth and he begins to interview Nazareth for his opinions concerning the following day’s race at Arlington Park. Nolan repetitively presses Nazareth to compare Foolish Pleasure with other horses, but Nazareth’s responses remain philosophically noncommittal. The film concludes with an exterior shot of Arlington Park’s sign with Foolish Pleasure’s name flashing beneath it.
Foolish Pleasure went on to win the $125,000 Golden Invitational Handicap which was the horse's final race.
