This footage shows preparation for and the execution of Operation Redwing in 1956.
United States Armed Forces and contractors are shown as they prepare to test nuclear detonations in the Marshall Islands in 1956. The film includes footage of a flying B-52 bomber – the design that dropped one of the nuclear test bombs in 1956. The film may have been made at or in the vicinity of Enewetak, Bikini, or Johnston Atoll. It concludes with several views of mushroom clouds created in the tests. The clapperboards indicate that many of the film's segments were shot in April.
