These films were held by James Gleason Bauer at his home until his death in 2016, when his daughter Julie A. Bauer inherited them. They were then donated to CFA in 2026.

Bauer, William F. (was created by)
William Frances Bauer was born in Chicago in December 1899 to German immigrant parents. In September, 1924 he married Lucille Rose Gleason. After marrying, they lived on the South Side of Chicago and had three children: Mary Corinne, William J., and James G. They later moved to Elmhurst, IL in December 1941, into a new house they built at 345 Prospect St. William was a salesman for an oil company for most of his life, and is said to have been proud that he worked every week throughout the Depression. His hobby was woodworking, and later in life, he enjoyed traveling and documenting his family with his 8mm camera. He died in Elmhurst in 1972.
Bauer, James G. (was created by)
James Gleason Bauer was born in Hammond, Indiana in March 1933 to parents William F. Bauer and Lucille Rose Gleason. They lived on the South Side of Chicago until moving to Elmhurst, IL in 1941. He and his siblings, Mary Corinne and William J., attended Immaculate Conception High School, where he met his wife, Patricia Harmon. In 1955, he graduated from the University of Wisconsin Madison and, a few years later, DePaul Law School. He practiced law in Elmhurst until his retirement. James and Patricia Harmon were married in Elmhurst in 1958, and had two daughters: Julie A. Bauer, born in 1960, and Lisa C. Bauer, born in 1962. James died in Elmhurst in 2016.
