The films were stored previously by Steven Poster in Los Angeles. CFA's Executive Director, Nancy Watrous, brought the films from Los Angeles to Chicago in 2006.

Poster, Steven (was created by)
Steven Poster (1944-) was born and raised In Chicago. He studied at Southern Illinois University, Los Angeles Art Center College of Design, and the Institute of Design at the Illinois Institute of Technology. He has worked as a director of photography on commercials, documentaries and feature-length films. He has been a member of the American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) since 1987, and served as President of ASC from 2002 to 2003. He currently lives in Los Angeles.
