Storybook Park/Getting Ready for Picnic
The film documents Victoria’s trip with her children and neighbors to the now-defunct amusement park Storybook Park, which was later renamed Adventureland. The film features attractions such as Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater, The Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe, and Humpty Dumpty, all located at Peter Rabbit’s Fairyland. Later in the film, we see preparations for a school field trip, most likely to the same place—the children, parents, and Felician Sisters in front of the Holly Innocents Grammar School, and then boarding the buses. The footage ends with shots of the sisters driving around in Antique Autos at the Storybook Park.
The film has been collected and preserved as part of the Not-So-Ordinary project, supported by the European Union (Grant Agreement No. 101109803). The digitization of the film was funded by the Institute for the Development of the Polish Language.
