Loosely assembled footage depicts the following: Members of the Fraternal Order of Police Chicago Lodge No. 7 rally near the General John Logan Memorial in Grant Park, Chicago; the Ku Klux Klan and neo-Nazis assemble for a “White Power” rally in Marquette Park, Chicago; neo-Nazi Art Jones distributes literature to the press, police arrest a Klan member, and a simultaneous “Dream Day” rally held in Marquette Park commemorates the 25th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech on August 28, 1988; Mayor Richard M. Daley, U.S. Representative Dan Rostenkowski, Illinois Poet Laureate Gwendolyn Brooks, and Metropolitan Water Reclamation District (MWRD) President Nicholas Melas deliver speeches at the June 30, 1989 dedication of the Centennial Fountain on the Chicago riverfront, stiltwalkers Steve Abrahamson and Timothy Balster dress up as Mississippi River explorers Louis Joliet and Pierre Marquette, and MWRD commissioners turn on the Centennial Fountain’s water supply to commemorate the MWRD’s 100th anniversary on June 30, 1989, in Chicago; and Mayor Daley speaks in support of Chinese students at a memorial rally in Daley Center Plaza in Chicago on June 9, 1989. Concluding footage features the CN Tower in Toronto; various New York City landmarks which include the 200 Fifth Avenue Clock, the Flatiron Building, the Strand Bookstore, the Strawberry Fields Memorial in Central Park, the George M. Cohan Statue in Duffy Square, and the Horace Greeley Statue in City Hall Park; and shots taken from a passenger train as it travels through rural landscapes, underneath bridges, and past a nearby tornado.
