Abstract
Fragment of an early three-strip Technicolor film produced by Wilding Picture Productions, depicting the 1933-1934 Chicago World's Fair/Century of Progress International Exposition.
While other versions of the film promoted Chrysler Plymouth Corporation, this version's second half focuses on Firestone Tire and Rubber Company's displays at the Fair.
According to The Dawn of Technicolor, 1915–1935 (James Layton and David Pierce, George Eastman House, 2015), World's Fair was the first commercial three-color live-action short film. The film was photographed during the last two weeks of October 1933 and was shown in theaters starting in April 1934.
