Abstract
Loosely assembled footage depicts Chicagofest performances by Robin Lane and The Chartbusters on August 3, 1980, The Charlie Daniels Band on August 5, 1980, Phil ‘N’ The Blanks (Chicagofest and other venues), the Chicago Symphony Orchestra on August 4, 1980, and The Flying Karamazov Brothers; performances by Bohemia and Clox at the “Rock against the Draft” free concert in Lincoln Park on July 4, 1980; a performance by Heavy Manners at a summer concert outside of the Tribune Tower. Footage captures Conductor Erich Leinsdorf as he is escorted up the stairs to Chicagofest’s main stage where the Chicago Symphony Orchestra performs for an audience including Mayor Jane Byrne and Jay McMullen.
