Abstract
Loosely assembled footage depicts the following: Chicago’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 17, 1984; the Save Our Neighborhoods Save Our City Coalition holds a public meeting; Chicago Police march toward St. Peter’s Church in the Loop; Ald. Martin Oberman speaks at an Old Town rally against a City Council-approved zoning change to permit a high-rise development, and the Jesse White Tumblers provide entertainment to rallygoers on May 6, 1984; Ald. Bernard Stone leads a cruise of news reporters, aldermen, World’s Fair officials, and other stakeholders on a tour of Burnham Harbor and the U.S. Steel Corporation’s South Works in search of a site for the planned Chicago 1992 World’s Fair on August 8, 1984; Ald. Ed Vrdolyak, Ald. Wilson Frost, Ald. Bernard Stone, and Ald. Richard Mell play in a City Council vs. City Hall Press “Barracudas” Lincoln Park softball game, while Ald. Fred Roti appears to serve as the umpire.
