U.S. Gypsum "Thermalux"
The film is addressed to builders, architects, and contractors, demonstrating in detail the use of Thermalux radiant heat panels in newly constructed houses. An on-screen narrator (who may be Chicago actor Thomas Erhart) describes the materials the panels are made of (graphite, asbestos, and electrical components).
Construction workers are shown installing the panels in a house they are building. One of the contractors attests that the panels are easy to install.
Research engineer Tom Fitzpatrick reviews test installations of Thermalux panels in Northern Illinois and Chicago homes in 1961, and how they performed after "three rugged Chicago winters."
Mrs. Ray endorses the product and describes how clean it is. Mr. and Mrs. Torres (and their cat) discuss what they like about their electrical heating system. An older couple, the Raymonds, stand outside of their modern home and talk about how much they like the quiet of the electric heating system.
The production credit on CFA's print of the film reads: Hedman Gray Inc. Chicago
